Application note

Purification of peptides by cation exchange chromatography

Innovative peptide purification process gives greatly enhanced purity

Therapeutic peptides are subject to highly stringent purity requirements. In this Application Note we present two differently produced therapeutic peptides purified using an upstream cation exchange chromatography (CIEX) step before one or two reverse phase chromatography (RPC) steps.

Learn how

  • the process provides the desired target peptide purity of more than 99%
  • introducing the CIEX step upstream of the silica-based RPC step significantly reduces burden from impurities
  • purity is also greatly enhanced by adding the upstream CIEX
